CLUB NEWS: White secures funding to purchase equipment for A&T
Astley & Tyldesley press officer Mike Hack has sent in the following:
“Great news is that Frank White has obtained £445 funding from Wigan Council’s Youth Inspiration Fund to purchase training equipment for the Astley & Tyldesley Club!
“9 years old Frank has secured the funding to purchase a limbo bar set and some basic rollers to make “training sessions more fun and varied to help encourage more riders to join the club”. Frank wrote the application himself, after discussing his ideas with the rest of his family. Frank was interviewed by the Wigan & Leigh Youth Cabinet for approximately 15 minutes (virtually on Microsoft Teams). He answered all the panel’s queries, except for the safeguarding one, but
fortunately mother Catherine was there to answer that one. The Youth Inspiration Fund is open to applications from young people in the Borough, aged between 8 and 19 years old, with applications assessed and funds awarded by Youth Cabinet members, who are all from that age group.
“The Cabinet was most impressed with Frank’s application and agreed to award the full amount of his application.
“Many congratulations to Frank from all at the Astley & Tyldesley Club – that’s a terrific achievement from such a young member, for all club members to benefit from.”
