CLUB NEWS: Newport take second in BYJL National round 3

Newport cycle speedway club staged National Round 3 of the British Youth & Junior League at Newport’s sports village, sponsored by Marsh Vision, 82 riders from a dozen clubs took to the track covering 7 different age groups and served up some great racing on the big Newport track.

The home club had the following rider “A” final placings:

Under 8s Jake Solomon 2nd.
Under 10s Kalem Martin 3rd.
Under 12s Luie Lewis winner.
Under 18s Ben Truscott 4th.



In the team event Newport finished a creditable second place. Scores.

1st Kesgrave 155
2nd Newport 119
3rd Poole 87
4th Astley 44
5th Sheffield 32
6th Coventry and Birmingham 16 each
8th Norwich 12.

Next National round is at Astley on September 17th 10am.
