MATCH REPORT: Newport do the double over Horspath

Newport cycle speedway club did the double in their away match at Horspath, winning the Senior match 93 to 86 , followed by the Juniors winning 84 to 65.

The division 1 match victory has maintained the welsh teams unbeaten record in the region, with the juniors development league team in joint 2nd .

Fresh from his bronze medal in the British championships, Mark Carmichael sped to an impressive maximum score with fellow British finalist and current European champion Ben Mould dropping just 1 point.

The development squad were all impressive in a great team display, Harley Barter top scoring with a 5 ride maximum, receiving solid support from all the team.

Newport’s next Development League match is at Southampton on Sunday Sept 25th.
