WEEKEND PREVIEW: BYJL resumes plus regional racing
The British Youth & Junior League resumes on Saturday with the North & Scotland riders heading to their regional centre of Astley & Tyldesley for their 2nd regional round (1pm start) whilst the 2nd South East regional round, which also counts towards the South-East Grand Prix, is at Great Blakenham with a 12pm start. The Midlands and South & South Wales regions stage their 1st rounds following their postponement 2 weeks ago. The Midlands round, which was scheduled to be staged by the Wednesfield club 2 weeks ago, will take place at Ashmore Park starting at 12pm. Coventry were scheduled to stage the 2nd Midlands round but this will now take place at a later date. Horspath is the venue for what will now be the 1st South & South Wales Regional round at 11am after the originally scheduled opener at Southampton fell victim to the wet weather in the week leading up to the event. Southampton’s round has been provisionally re-scheduled for Saturday May 6th
Moving on to Sunday and there is action in 3 of the 4 regions. In the South-East region Ipswich welcome Great Blakenham to Whitton Sports Centre for matches in South-East Division 1, Division 2 and the Youth League. Hethersett take on Kesgrave in South-East Division 2 and in 2 matches in the Youth League as Kesgrave have 2 teams entered in this competition. The action at Ipswich and Hethersett gets underway at 1pm.
In the North & Scotland region it is Roiund 3 of the Northern 4’s and Junior League which will be hosted by the Heckmondwike club starting at 12pm
The Midland League will see Leicester take on Wednesfield whilst in the National League Birmingham are the visitors to Newport with both of these matches scheduled to start at 2pm
