MATCH REPORT: Jude edges tight affair in Under 14’s DASH trophy

Report and photo by Matthew Wilcockson

Ten under 14 riders attended the Wednesfield track on Saturday 22nd of April to contest the annual open event sponsored by DASH Trophies. Being the first national event for the age group this year, racing was tense and close throughout. The track was in excellent condition, having rained overnight with the weather remaining dry on the day.

At the top of the leaderboard, only one point separated the top four places with the lead changing hands a number of times during the heats. A race-off for third place saw Luis Lewis (Newport) upset the formbook to beat 2021 BYJL Champion Luca Woodhouse (Kesgrave) (Both 18 points). The run-off for first place saw Jude Wilcockson (Coventry), take advantage of the inside grid to control the race against Lily Parr (Kesgrave) (both 19 Points)

Thanks go to the sponsors, the Wednesfield club, Matt Parr for stepping in late to referee, and the parents.
