WEEKEND PREVIEW: BYJL returns and some regional league matches

A busy weekend of Cycle Speedway action kicks off tomorrow (Saturday April 6th) with the return of the British Youth & Junior League where the opening regional Rounds take place at Newport in the South & South Wales region and Norwich in the South-East Region. The Norwich round at Eaton Park will also count as the opening round of the South East Grand Prix for 2024. Both events start at midday. The opening Midlands (Wednesfield) and North & Scotland (Heckmondwike) rounds will be staged on Saturday April 13th.

Moving on to Sunday and there will be regional league matches in 3 regions. In the North & Scotland League Astley & Tyldesley welcome Heckmondwike to Gin Pit for matches in Division 2 and Division 3, whe latter starting at 1pm with the Division 2 match at 2pm followed by a challenge match against Wednesfield at 4pm. Hull make the trip to Bury’s Goshen Sports Centre in Divisions 1,2 and 3 whilst Fife host Sheffield in a Division 1 match at the FastBowl

Moving on to the South-East region and Great Blakenham take on Norwich in a Division 2 match whilst Kesgrave have 3 matches against Hethersett with the Panthers and the Pumas both racing in Division 2 matches against the Hawks plus there will also be a Youth League match

The South & South Wales League sees 2 matches taking place as Newport take on Poole whilst Horspath welcome East Newport
