WEEKEND PREVIEW: Another busy weekend of Cycle Speedway action coming up

Another busy weekend of Cycle Speedway action gets underway tomorrow (Saturday 18th May) with the latest British Youth & Junior League Regional Rounds. East Newport stage what has now become Round 2 of the South & South Wales Regional rounds whilst it is the 3rd rounds in the other 3 regions. The North & Scotland round takes place at the regional centre of Astley & Tyldesley whilst the Midlands youngsters head to Birmingham. The South East round, which also counts as the 3rd round of the South-East Grand Prix, is being staged at the Somersham track.

There is action in all 4 regions on Sunday and we start our preview in the North & Scotland League where Sheffield and Bury meet at the Graves Tennis Centre. Both of these teams are currently undefeated in Division 1 so this match will have a big say in the outcome of the championship at the end of the season. The 2 teams will also contest matches in Divisions 2 & 3. Also in the North & Scotland League Hull take on Astley & Tyldesley across all 3 divisions. There is also individual action at Fife where the Scottish Open takes place

In the South East region Ipswich make the trip to Great Blakenham for matches in Division 1, Division 2 and the Youth League whilst there is a double header of action at Kesgrave where the first match is a South East Division 2 match between the kesgrave Panthers and Norwich which is followed by Kesgrave v Birmingham in the National League

The South & South Wales League has 2 matches with East Newport taking on Poole and newport travelling to Exeter whilst in the Midlands Wednesfield are staging another club day which will take the form of the Wednesfield Olympique Championship.
