MATCH REPORT: Manchester League Round 5

Stockport staged Round 5 of the Manchester League Grand Prix series, on a cool and bright Wednesday evening.

Ten riders competed in the Division 1 match. Three riders jointly top scored, with 15 points each. Bury’s Mike Baldock lost only to teammate Kris Ramsden, whilst Ramsden and Stockport’s Terry Norman beat each other once. Defending Division 1 Champions, Bury, took the team win, to remain unbeaten in this year’s series.

Veterans GP: Terry Norman (Stockport) 16, Mark Radford (Bury) 15.

Women’s GP: Emily Burgess (A&T) 16, Laura Watson (Sheffield) 14.

The Division 2 (Youth & Junior) match was run on a mini-ladder format, again contested by seven riders. Bury’s Tom Dunphy won the ‘A’ final race, finishing ahead of A&T’s Josh  Pilkington, Oscar Belt and Levi Edwards. Defending Division 2 Champions, Astley & Tyldesley, took their fifth team win of the series.
