With no further interest on the final league honours team manager Colin Rowles opted to include former club riders Kevin Marshallsay and Bob Hayward whilst Josh Nottle and Ted Curtis gave performances that did little harm for their National League inclusion.
With Oliver Saunders delivering a true captains role the home side took an early lead, assisted by opponents penalty points, that saw them provide eight heat winners up to the interval stage. However Nataleigh Goulden and Neil Power gave East Newport a positive start to the second half with a well taken heat advantage but with Sean Bennett the only other heat winner, in addition to further penalty points, the home side gained a comfortable and well deserved victory.
