After the extreme heat problem the previous weekend racing returned at Findon on Sunday, which is their normal race day, and the riders responded with a well supported level of nominations. Blake Frencken was unstoppable in the senior event with a well deserved runner up awarded to Bobby McMillen who made a welcome return to racing.
Xavier Whitehead, with three heat wins under his belt, captured the junior trophy from Max Lowick and Caitilin Knights. Injury and sickness reduced the Womens final to just two riders with Miriam Thompson taking victory by a solitary point. Whilst Matt Gentle again dictated the Over 30s competition Rob Matthews produced a similar result in the Veteran grade. Although multi capped Australian International Shane Bentley has yet to make an appearance this season it is hopeful he will nominate for the Annual Memorial Open Championship at Reserve Parade on Sunday 23rd February.
