The final day of the 2026 British Individual Championships saw the action move to Glover Park at Leicester where the Under 18 Open, Over 40’s, Women’s Open and Men’s Open titles would be decided
The Under 18 Open was the first event of the day and this saw Wednesfield’s Corey Burt take the title with a 20 point maximum. Heat 20 was the key race when Burt and Luca Woodhouse (who was also unbeaten after 4 races) met. Burt made the gate and led all the way with Woodhouse keeping the pressure on until the European Open Champion slipped his pedals coming out of the 2nd bend on the last lap and he ended up 3rd in the race but 2nd overall with 18 points. Astley & Tyldesley’s Frank White took advantage of Woodhouse’s slip to finish 2nd in heat 20 to finish on 16 points, the same score as Poole’s Jamie Randall who defeated White in a run-off for 3rd

The Over 40’s were next on track and this saw Wednesfield’s Lee Aris take the title with 19 points, dropping his only point to Gavin Wheeler in his opening rideWheeler scored 18 points, the same as Mark Boaler and Craig Marchant so a run-off was required to decide the final 2 places on the podium and it was the European Over 40’s Champion Boaler who took the win in the run-off and 2nd overall from Wheeler and Marchant

The Women’s Open followed and this saw Ipswich’s Lily Parr take the title with 18 points, dropping her only points when finishing 3rd in heat 9. a 3 rider run-off was required for 2nd and 3rd between Sheffield’a Lacey Ackroyd, Astley & Tyldesley’s Emily Burgess and Leicester’s Lucy Whitehead and that was the finishing order as Ackroyd took her 3rd Silver medal of the weekend after finishing as runner up in the Under 16 Girls and Under 18 Girls events

The Men’s Open was the final event of the weekend and this saw Ipswich’s Ben Clarke take the title with 17 points. The key race was heat 18 where 3rd would be enough for him if Josh Brooke or Mark Boaler won the race. But World Champion Lewis Brinkhoff took the win from Brooke and Boaler which meant that last place was enough for Clarke to become Ipswich’s 2nd British Champion of the day. Brinkhoff’s win in heat 18 and 2nd for Brooke put them on 16 points each which meant a run-off for 2nd and 3rd which was won by Brinkhoff. 2025 winner Mark Carmichael’s defence of the title ended in heat 10 when he received a match ban for abusive language towards referee Bob Prince following an incident in that race
