NEWS: Coventry set for Brum challenge
Coventry Devlins Newsagents Cycle Speedway Club are looking forward to welcoming local rivals Birmingham to Hearsall Common this Sunday (8th June) afternoon as Coventry seek their first home victory since mid March. Tapes-up at 2pm.
Coventry will be up against it however after the Godiva City club lost out to the Perry Barr based in Birmingham in April. Birmingham will track a strong side, including an array of nationally ranked riders.
Coventry will track inspirational leader Myke Grimes and Polish international superstar Konrad Pietak. However, the Hearsall Common based outfit are without Polish dynamo Dominik Rycharski, skipper Dave Frith and rising star Mason Phillips.

Coventry’s under 13 side also did themselves proud at last Saturday`s British under 13 team final, held at Wednesfield, as they finished second in the consolation final. The city whizz-kids finished as the top Midlands side.
Spencer Sawbridge led the city youngsters, speeding to a succession of heat wins, whilst Sammi Marsh, Ollie Morris and newcomer Levi Walters all had their moments.
The Coventry juniors were also in action at Hearsall Common on Tuesday evening in a Midlands League derby clash with local rivals Bretford Bulldogs. A better balanced home side took the honours by 76 points to Bretford’s 53 points.
Girl racer Bailie Phillips, Sawbridge and Morris were all in top form for Coventry, whilst the Bulldogs provided the top individual performer of the evening in Matt Hambridge, who raced to an unbeaten 20 point maximum.
