LEAGUE TABLE: Elite League after 7 rounds
There are just three rounds remaining of the 2014 Cycle Speedway Elite League series, with Horspath looking like they’ve got the title sown up, the battle is on for the top three places between Ipswich, Wednesfield, Sheffield and Poole.
After Round 7
P | W | D | L | Points | Points Dif. | |
Horspath | 7 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 14 | 51 |
Ipswich | 7 | 4 | 0 | 3 | 8 | 0 |
Wednesfield | 7 | 3 | 0 | 4 | 6 | 32 |
Sheffield | 7 | 3 | 0 | 4 | 6 | 25 |
Poole | 7 | 3 | 0 | 4 | 6 | -30 |
Newport | 7 | 1 | 0 | 6 | 2 | -78 |
Horspath would need something severely drastic to occur to lose them the title at this stage, after a fine seven match winning streak. Ipswich are slightly ahead of the chasing pack, but they’ve got a difficult trip to Sheffield in two weeks time, a win for the Stars could see them sitting in second, after a disappointing start to the season. Poole will hope to overcome the might of the Hammers at home and stay in touching distance of those around them. Wednesfield travel to Newport, who need to get some more points on the board, if the Aces can win that match, it could also move them into second if the Eagles slip up at the Graves. It’s all to ride for!
The combination table will be published when we get an updated version of it.
