MATCH REPORT: Dragons boost as Haddock returns
Wednesfield’s Dragons team earned their first league points of the season in the local derby meeting against East Park Wolves in convincing style. With youngsters Carl Parfitt & Haydn Rowley putting in stirling performances led by in form Brandon Whetton.
The dragons also welcomed back to Cycle Speedway, Matt Haddock who returned from retirement he partnered his elder brother Tom they look like they will be a strong pair to break down in matches to come.
Harry Everiss is begining to gain his fitness after his universty lay off and the Dragons had stong support in the reserve berths with Chris Jewkes and Mick Aris. Jamie Ball put in a solid score for the visitors and encouraged his team members from the pits with his usual vocal support.
The Wolves missed the experience of Jack Hibberd & David Ball, but the White brothers contributed to some good racing. Will Cartwright looks to be improving with every match,
Jamie Whetton was flying for three races and may have influenced the meeting further but he came a cropper in his fourth race and sustained nasty injuries to his hip, side, back & knee, resulting in a ambulance being called and a delay in the meeting.
Jamie was taken to hospital and the news is that he is badly bruised & graized, we all wish Jamie a speedy recovery. The Wolves gave Danni Hickie her first competitive outing to Cycle Speedway.
