NEWS: Rowley plans olympic charity event

Wednesfield’s Glyn Rowley is organising another charity night at Ashmore Park, which involves an olympic formula and riders you may not expect.

Glyn explains, “I’m arranging another charity night for Friday 11th September 2015 where 16 none cycle speedway riders will go head to head in an olympic formula. This year the chosen charity is “Breast Cancer Now”, formerly known as “Breakthrough Breast Cancer”, following the passing of Lucy Smith – beloved wife of First4Staff Managing Director Jason Guy whom is my employer.

“The charity night is aimed at fun and introducing new people to the sport- previous years have seen local celebrities and known personalities. There are plans for an ex Wolves player to present the awards on the evening.”

To support or take part contact Glyn Rowley on 07742015555 or email glyn@first4staff.net.  To donate please visit www.justgiving.com/lucyandjason or select a rider posting on facebook.

Father of junior Ace, Haydn, Glyn continued, “We currently have 12 riders confirmed, so if you fancy having taking part in a Cycle Speedway match but don’t fancy league racing – this is the event for you. The event is free to spectate held at the home of the Wednesfield Aces Ashmore Park Raceway. To participate all we ask is to raise £50.00 sponsorship for charity (this is a minimum figure not a target).”

The event is also being featured live on Signal 107 FM.
