MATCH REPORT: Hawks back on track

Hethersett Hawks/Swinton & Co got their South East League Division 1 title hopes back on track with a comprehensive win at Kesgrave. Leigh Cossey and Dan Chambers were unbeaten for the Hawks and Lee Grange dropped just two points to spearhead the attack.
Harley Hamill had his first match for two years following a football shoulder injury, and he looked sharp in the four rides he had, sharing three 7-3 wins to set up the victory. Young Lewis Brinkhoff was outstanding for the home side.

Heavy rain affected the Division 2 match but the Hawks put up a good fight against the home side who have aspirations of the title. The Hawks worked well as a team but only posted four heat winners – Dan Butler two and one each by Dave Adams and Harley Hamill. Daniel Longlands continued to show he is learning fast on his first visit to a Suffolk track.

Five Hethersett riders will be back in Suffolk this coming weekend for the British Individual Championships – Dan Chambers and Leigh Cossey in the Open, Olly Buxton in the Open and Under-19s, Katie Adams in the Ladies and Roger Carter in the 60+ category.
