NEWS: Major Cycle Speedway coverage back on Sky Sports
Major Cycle Speedway will return to the Sky Sports TV screens in mid May with the edited highlights of the 2015 World Woman’s Final from the long running Wednesfield Aces track in the West Midlands.
Coverage will beam into homes the UK, and latterly globally to over 30 countries, across the Sky Sports platform of the fiercely contested event, which saw for the first time riders from several countries challenging for the major honours.
The final, sponsored by Yale UK, attracted a live audience of over 1,000 spectators and confirmed woman’s racing as a growing, and leading component, of the sport. Over 50 riders are now thought to be racing regularly in the UK.
The coverage will air in the long standing Sports Unlimited programme and will include a peak hour transmission of the final at 7pm on Wednesday 18th May. There will be further major national TV coverage of the sport in June, with the deciding Great Britain V Australia Test match and the World Final also set to be screened.
