Following consultation with the member Federations, the ICSF has agreed the following age categories for International competitions.
The birth years are shown below for the 2017 World Championships.
- Men: Born 2002 or before (min 15+)
- Women: Born 2004 or before (min 13+)
- Junior Under 18: Born 1999-2004 (min 13+) – boys and girls may compete in this event
- Boys Under 16: Born 2001-2004 (min 13+)
- Girls Under 16: Born 2001-2004 (min 13+)
- Veterans: Born 1977 or before (min 40+) – men and women may compete in this event
