CLUB NEWS: Hawks keep score respectable
Hethersett Hawks / Yellow Brick Mortgages were dreading a trip to Great Blakenham with so many of their squad unavailable but both clubs deserve credit – the Hawks for honouring the fixture and Blakenham for resting top riders to provide a more competitive match. Paul Delaiche and the Martin brothers did their utmost to keep the score respectable and others got some valuable practice.
Great Blakenham 96 Hethersett 63
(Paul Delaiche 16, Daniel Martin 14, Mason Martin 12+1, Will Clarke 5, Katie Adams 5, Gareth Mott 4, Harry Dodds 3, Oscar Copeland 2, Matthew Sidell 2)
The Hawks were one rider short for the youth team match and gave debuts to Oscar Copeland and Harry Dodds, the latter looking very impressive after joining the club less than a month ago. His support to unbeaten Mason Martin and Will Clarke and the determination of Matthew Sidell saw the Hawks pull off a victory by six points.

Three Hethersett riders are in action at the British Championships next weekend – at Southampton on Saturday and Horspath (Oxford) on Monday.
