On Monday, Astley & Tyldesley coaches Mike Hack and Miao Chen welcomed Fasi Chan and Marco Kwok, from the Invis Cycling Club in Hong Kong, to Gin Pit.

Fasi brought a group of Hong Kong riders to Gin Pit in 2018 for a taster session. His return trip is part of a fact finding mission, with the aim of introducing cycle speedway in Hong Kong.

Fasi was accompanied by Marco Kwok, who was the 2011 UCI Track Men’s Scratch Race World Champion, and a successful multi disciplinary cycle racer.

Both riders enjoyed a few laps of the Gin Pit circuit and are considering competing in this year’s ICSF World Cycle Speedway Championships in Australia.

Incidentally, the 2023 UCI Track Men’s Scratch Race World Champion is former Exeter Cycle Speedway rider, Will Tidball, who has tasted success in national competitions at Gin Pit, as a youth rider.
