WEEKEND PREVIEW: Jim Peck Memorial Trophy highlight of a busy weekend
Another busy weekend of cycle speedway action gets underway on Saturday with Kesgrave hosting what has now become the 6th round of the South-East Grand Prix starting at midday. What should have been Round 6 at East London (which was rained off on August 5th) will now become Round 7 on Saturday 30th September.
Also on Saturday is the 10th staging of the Jim Peck Memorial Trophy at Great Blakenham where the chosen charity this year is the British Heart Foundation. An Over 40’s Individual takes place at 4.30pm with the main event scheduled to start at 6.30pm
There is also action at Heckmondwike and Poole on Saturday with the latter staging Round 5 of the British Youth & Junior League South & South Wales Regional series whilst Heckmondwike is the venue for the Yorkshire League Individuals
Moving on to Sunday and the final round of the Women’s Battle of Britain and Elite Grand Prix takes place at Ipswich with the Battle of Britain match starting at midday followed by the GP series and the day at Ipswich is rounded off with a National League match against Newport. There is also National League action at Kesgrave where the Poole Comets are the visitors.
There is also North & Scotland League action at Goshen Sports Centre where Bury take on Hull in all 3 divisions whilst Wednesfield are the visitors to Hearsall Common, Coventry for a Midland League fixture
