WEEKEND PREVIEW: CS Cup highlight of the weekend
The 2024 CS Cup takes place this weekend at Wednesfield with Saturday’s action starting at 11am with Poole taking on Ipswich, Southampton and Sheffield in Match A. Match B at 12.30pm will see the defending champions Birmingham and runners-up Kesgrave up against Wednesfield and Great Blakenham. There will be 2 further matches on Saturday with the winners and the 4th placed team from Match A taking on the 2nd & 3rd placed teams from Match B at 2.30pm whilst Match D at 4pm will see the winners and 4th placed team from Match B taking on the 2nd & 3rd placed trams from Match A. These matches will be raced using a 4 team 24 heat formula
Match Points scoring system will be 1st = 4 pts 2nd = 3 pts 3rd = 2pts 4th = 1 pt
Top 4 teams from league table to progress to Sunday’s Semi-Finals. Teams 5th to 8th are eliminated.
Race points to count in event of a tie of match points for a qualifying place.
Run-off in event of a tie on both match points and race points, to determine a qualifying place.
The Semi-Final draws to be completed after the completion of Match D.
The Semi-Finals will take place on Sunday at 11am and 1pm with the Final at 3.30pm
Also on Saturday the remaining Norfolk Individual Championships will be decided at Hethersett, having been postponed at Spixworth in June. The Under 10’s and Girls Championships will be decided at 1pm with the Under 16’s and Seniors following at 2pm
2 regional League matches take place on Sunday. Horspath take on Exeter in the South & South Wales League whilst Bury make the trip to Hull for North & Scotland League matches
