CLUB NEWS: Hawks receive boost to track development plans

HETHERSETT HAWKS / YELLOW BRICK MORTGAGES received a boost to their track development plans when they received a grant from Persimmon Homes for £2000. This will go towards finishing touches to “The Nest” – a project started five years ago to provide track side facilities. The £30k+ project has seen two customised containers arrive on site and these are now being fitted out with a toilet for riders and officials plus a kitchen ( which has also been donated by Persimmon Homes) and an officials’ room. The photo below showing the presentation features, as well as Persimmon managers, Track Development Officer Sacha El-Labany, Chair Mel Perkins plus riders Austin Brailey and Nyla El-Labany. Also in the picture is District Councillor David Bills who not only brokered the deal with Pesimmon but also arranged a £10k grant from South Norfolk Council.

In other news Club sponsors Yellow Brick Mortgages have extended their support for another three years which is very much appreciated. At the Club’s AGM two new Committee members were elected and the Club has an exciting season ahead having already been allocated a British Women & Girls League event in May plus the prospect of being part of the World Championships in September.
