Hull kept their Yorkshire League hopes alive with a solid win against Sheffield and Heckmondwike on a breezy evening at The Hessle Raceway. Hull included Nathan Everett making his seasonal debut and Adam Stephenson in his first Yorkshire League outing this year. The home side started well with Noah Lyon and Nathan taking a 7-3 over the Sheffield pairing. Pawel Idziorek was on top form for The Stars and won heats 4 and 7 in drawn races against Hull. The home side crucially won heat 10 against Sheffield with a 7-3 from Jason Keith / Adam to take an eight point advantage into the four individual races. Sheffield took three of these races with Hull in second place with heat 14 proving the exception with Hull’s Nathan Everett winning from Pat Beacock recording Heckmondwike’s only success in a tough night for the Saints. Hull’s team all rode well with Harry Gibson catching the eye from reserve berth while Sheffield’s Pawel Idziorek showed a turn of speed that was uncatchable on the night.
