Astley & Tyldesley secretary Mike Hack has been in touch with the following statement regarding the Little league Championships:

The Astley & Tyldesley club is delighted to announce the opening of entries for the Little League Championships that we will be hosting at Gin Pit on Saturday, 30th August. Please circulate this information to anyone who you think may wish to enter the individual competitions, along with clubs invited to enter the team competition.

This is always a popular day just for the younger riders. The excellent facilities at Astley & Tyldesley, the North’s Regional Cycle Speedway Centre, for both riders and spectators, will enable a pleasant family day out. 

Entries for the Little League Championships on Saturday 30th August 2025, are now open. The closing date for entries is Friday 8th August.

We are running four individual categories: U8 Boy, U8 Girl, U10 Boy, U10 Girl.

Plus, we are staging an U10 Mixed Team Championship.

The formats used will depend on the number of entries. If up to 6 teams enter, this will be run as a straight final. Any more teams will necessitate two semi-finals and a final.

All draws will be pre-populated after the closing date and a running order will be announced. Late entries will only be accepted if there is space in the programme. The separate running of the U8 Girls is dependent on the number of entries and will be merged with the U10 Girls if not enough riders enter for a stand alone match.
