Hull staged the fourth round of The Yorkshire League and the second round of the Grand Prix on another warm day. In the league match Sheffield took advantage of strong reserve Pawel Idziorek to take 6-4’s over the home pairings in heats 6 and 12. This coupled with Heckmondwike splitting the Jack Lister / Ellwood Harrison pairing in heat 11 gave Sheffield a 6 point lead going into the nominated races which they maintained with both sides winning two races. There was some excellent races and Hull’s side all rode well with Jack Lister, Noah Lyon and Lewis Foxley leading the scorers with Sheffield just having the edge with Pawel at reserve while Heckmondwike never gave up and had some success for Pat Beacock and Lee Warhurst.

The Junior Grand Prix under 13’s was won by Hull’s Harry Gibson from team mates Ellwood Harrison and Jayden Bennett with Heckmondwike’s Joseph Green in fourth place. The under 10’s was won by Hull’s Alexis Woodcock with fellow Hull riders Tommy Tenwick in second place and debutant Henry Billam third.

The senior ‘A’ final was won in fine style by Sheffield’s Pawel Idziorek with Hull’s Lewis Foxley in second place and Sheffield’s Aiden Owen and Kielan Burton in third and fourth. The under 16’s was won by Hull’s Noah Lyon with Sheffield’s Oliver Banyard runner-up. Heckmondike’s Justin Naylor won the veteran’s 40+ event with team mate Pat Beacock winning the veteran’s 55+ final. Hull’s Kacey Bennett raced in the ladder with some notable clashes with Heckmondwike’s Elliot Long but won her final uncontested.
