The 3rd and Final day of the British Individual Championship Weekend would see the Over 40’s, Under 16 Open, Women’s and Open Championships decided at Southampton. The Over 40’s were first on track and Great Blakenham’s Adam Peck clinched the title dropping only 1 point which came in his last race as he finished 2nd to the outgoing champion Gavin Wheeler. Lee Aris finished as runner-up for the 2nd year in succession whilst Wheeler took 3rd. Norwich’s Paddy Wenn was a late replacement for Horspath rider Mark Boaler who withdrew as a result of an injury he sustained yesterday at Exeter

The Under 16 Open Championship was next on track and of the 14 riders originally entered Kesgrave riders Theo Case and Isaac Powling both withdrew. Luca Woodhouse became the 3rd British Champion from the Great Blakenham club with a full 20 point maximum. Hull’s Noah Lyon took 2nd place, dropping his only point to Woodhouse whilst Poole’s Teddy Curtis took 3rd place with 18 points, dropping his only points to the top 2

The Women’s Championship followed and this saw Emily Burgess regain the title she won in 2021 & 2022. Burgess dropped her only point to the runner-up Elizabeth Rigley in heat 3 but was undefeated thereafter. Rigley finished as runner-up whilst Sheffield’s Lacey Ackroyd took the last spot on the podium after defeating Rebekah Humphries and Rachel Lammin in a run-off for 3rd

The Open Individual Championship was the final event of the weekend and this saw Exeter’s Mark Carmichael clinch the title after a run-off with Birmingham’s Chris Timms after both riders finished with 17 points. Great Blakenham’s Noah Woodhouse finished 3rd with 15 points, his 3rd consecutive 3rd place finish
