With the 2025 World Championships just around the corner England Manager Wayne Aris is happy to confirm his England Squad that will compete in the World Cup Team Pre Qualifier hopefully the World Cup Team Final and the World Best Pairs. He will have a pool of 7 riders to pick from that will hopefully make England world champions in both events.
Chris Timms. Birmingham
Chris will be the England Captain for this years championships. For me he is a natural leader that will bring experience to the team. The British number 2 is a rider that can adapt to individual and team racing and always gives his 110% every time he takes to the track.
Josh Brooke. Gt Blakenham
Josh is a rider that takes to the big events like duck to water and brings his A game to these events hence why he has made numerous podium places in British Individuals. Josh will be another rider that will call on his experience to get through these championships to add to his already impressive cycle speedway career.
Ash Hill. Ipswich
Ash has had a good 2025 results wise in the National League and had a very good British Individuals recently in the south. When this lad puts his mind to it he can beat the best which puts him amongst the best. Always battles to gain a position or to hold a position and is a great example of an around cycle speedway rider.
Paul Heard. Birmingham
Paul is a 3 times British Champion and has had numerous England and GB caps so is a rider that will be a great asset to the squad. Another rider that has been scoring well this year and once he is infront he is very tough rider to beat with his fast pace and his determination to win races.
Ben Clarke. Ipswich
Ben is one of best riders to come out of the Ipswich Club. Coming through the junior ranks and now holds his own amongst the best seniors in the sport. He is a rider that is capable of winning big events and I’m sure with many more years to race he will win one.
Lewis Brinkoff. Gt Blakenham
Tyler is a rider I enjoy watching he has a style that reminds me of 90s riders Varnish, Hepworth & Harcourt but brings his own bag of tricks that makes him a hard rider on the track to beat. He is one of the riders that helped us win Euro Team cup a few years ago and had an incredible match.
Noah Woodhouse. Gt Blakenham
Last but by no means least is a rider that has burst onto the scene with a bang. Only 18 but has already had senior podium finishes on some high profile events. He is a rider that has everything that a Cycle Speedway rider needs to become a champion fast gating, extremely quick, and can pull a pass of when needed. This is rider for the now and the future.
Wayne goes on to say “I can also reveal a new sponsor for the England team. Dave Broomhall the owner and licensee of Gilbert’s Bar & Function Room has become our new sponsor and I wish to thank Dave for his contribution to get these new shirts and I hope that in a few weeks time we can pay him back by becoming World Champions. Last but not least a massive thank you to Myke Grimes at 33/18 designs who has outdone himself again with another outstanding design of the tops. Many thanks Myke. Hope everyone enjoys the championships”
