Day 8 of the World Championships saw thr conclusion of the Junior, Over 40’s and Open Federation Cups at Ipswich where all 3 matches were between Great Britain and Poland, The Junior match was first and after opening up with 3 successive 6-4;s the Brits never looken back on their way to victory by 93 points to 84, clinching the overall Junior Federation Cup in the process. Reigning Junior World Champion Kenzie Bennett top scored with a 20 point maximum for GB whilst Adrian Olkowski was Poland’s top scorer with 17

The Over 40’s match followed and Great Britain opened up with a maximum 7-3 in the first heat. The next 2 heats were shared then Poland took a 1 point lead with a 7-2 after the reigning World Over 40’s Champion Gavin Wheeler was excluded for moving at the tapes. The lead was extended to 4 points in the next race with a 6-3 to Poland after an exclusion to Mark Boaler for legging. heats 6 & 7 were shared then GB levelled the scores with a maximum 7-3 by Boaler & Wheeler over Daniel Kubiak & Jacek Wleklik. Adam Peck and Kevin Burns then scored a 6-4 over Tomasz Wlodarczyk and Lukasz Rajewski to give GB the lead which they never relinquished on their way to a 95-80 victory and the overall Federation Cup win. The Open match rounded off the action and after 3 shared heats Great Britain took the lead with a 6-4 courtesy of Ben Clarke and Ben Mould over Dawid Bas and Adrian Olkowski and maintained it on their way to winning 98-78 and clinching the overall Federation Cup victory.
