Members of Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club attended the official King’s Award for Voluntary Service presentation at Gorton Monastery, Manchester this week.
The 16 organisations in Greater Manchester who received the award were all present at the ceremony. Each group was presented with a KAVS crystal and a certificate. The awards were presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Diane Hawkins. She was assisted by: the Vice Lord Lieutenant, Sharman Birtles; the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mark Llewellin; the Mayor of Wigan, Jenny Bullen.
A&T’s representatives were the new Chairman, Paul Candy, Secretary Mike Hack, Treasurer Catherine White and joint Volunteers of the Year, Svitlana and Volodymyr Rechembei.

It was a most enjoyable and prestigious event, held in a magnificent location.
