PREVIEWS: Women’s League and Regional fixtures for this weekend
Great Blakenham is the host for tomorrow’s opening Women’s League fixture. Tapes up for this first round are at 12pm, where the cream of UK Women’s Cycle Speedway will be on display.
There are plenty of Regional matches around the country for you to witness on Sunday, except for the South East league, who have no fixtures this weekend.
In the Midlands, Coventry host East Park, who are without top rider Matt Smith, after he picked up a match ban for leaving the pits against Leicester last weekend*. Wednesfield Aces host a resurgent Birmingham team, who swept aside Coventry in the first half last Sunday. The Aces will be looking to kick off their Midland League campaign with a win, as they aim to retain their title.
In the Northern League, Edinburgh travel down to Astley and Tyldesley, Northumbria host Bury and Stockport welcome Heckmondwike, where they will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run.
In the South and South Wales league, Newport are up against travelling Southampton, where they will be looking to get back to winning ways after their defeat to Swindon last weekend. Finally, Poole welcome Exeter to Harbourside to wrap up the Regional fixtures for this weekend.
There is one midweek event taking place in the South East region on Wednesday night (23rd), Norwich host the Norfolk GP1 at Harford Park.
