NEWS: British Indoor Finals – Appeal for ‘set-up’ volunteers
The promotors of this weekend`s British Indoor finals, to be staged in Coventry, have appealed for volunteers to help this Friday (2nd January 2015) afternoon, at 4pm, to assist with the mammoth task of `setting-up` the arena, track and hall for the two day Cycle Speedway extravaganza.
A local Coventry CSC contingent will be on hand and will be joined by several Wednesfield CSC members such as Roger Ellis, Steve Mullinder and Dave Jewkes. The Kemp family, who live nearby, are also expected to attend.
A British Indoor finals promotor said: “If anyone is in the area between 4m and 8pm, and can spare a hand, we shall be delighted to see you. We have have to turn a cavernous empty hall into a British Final arena in just 4 hours. Tasks include unloading 22 sections of the specially imported airfence, building it, inflating it, positioning barriers and seating, adding a PA system and cleaning the track surface with machines and by good old fashioned mopping”.
