MATCH REPORT: Newport make it difficult but overcome by the Hammers

Newport Cycle Speedway Club took on current Elite League champions, Horspath, at Newport’s Sports Village and after an excellent performance against a very strong visiting team, ran out losers by 77-100.

The Hammers took no chances, flying over 3 top polish riders to make sure of the win, all three looked sharp, Grabowski and Kolata dropping a race each.

Newport made it really hard for the champions with all 9 riders giving their all. Jack Harrold made his Elite League debut after 12 months in Australia and showed signs of getting back to his best. Dan Bock had his best elite match to date scoring 12 points including a win over Kolata.
