MATCH REPORT: Team work sees Leicester through
The two clubs involved at Glover Park yesterday should be congratulated, as they managed to fit in four matches in total, catering for virtually every age and ability.
The division one match was hard fought with plenty of interesting races, the home side were never behind but could never fully shake off a determined Birmingham outfit.
Chris Timms showed his class with an untroubled maximum and he received good support from his teammates.
Leicester probably had the edge with their team work, Frith and Venson in particular excelling in this department.
Spare a thought for poor Phil Widdas though, Phil had a nightmare afternoon being replaced in one ride and suffering gate exclusions in his other two attempts – so not even completing a single lap!
