CLUB NEWS: A&T Presentation & Social event
Issued by Mike Hack, Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club Press Officer
Astley & Tyldesley held their 30th Annual Presentation and Social Event, in the main function room of the Astley & Tyldesley Miners’ Welfare Club, at Gin Pit. 55 club members, family and friends enjoyed the afternoon, to round off the club’s 2021 season. The Club has worked hard to recruit new members this year and it was pleasing to see many of them
in attendance at the event.
43 rider awards were on the table to be handed out. The presentations were made by Polish International rider, Pawel Idziorek, who made a welcome return to his former club. Oscar Belt received the Most Improved Rider award, with the Rory Blackwell Cup, for Best Newcomer, going to Jack Waddington. The North West Trophies Cup, for Best Novice, was won
by Alexander Lawless. The J. Fisher & Sons Cup for Young Rider of the Year went to Charlie Burgess, with Reece Pollitt winning the Alan Farrell Memorial Cup, for Rider of the Year.
The Astley & Tyldesley Club has always valued its volunteers and officials, and this year saw 30 volunteers receiving presents for their efforts in helping the Club to continue its activities, despite the difficulties imposed by the Covid pandemic. The Ron Hack Memorial Cup, for the Volunteer of the Year, was won by Andrew Belt.
