MATCH REPORT: Scottlsh Fours League Final Round

Despite recent storms the Scottish Fours League grand finale enjoyed mild temperatures and sunshine. Northumbria Vikings took the lead in heat 1 only for Glasgow to take it back in heat 2 with guest rider Kirkup. Northumbria then drew level after Fife’s first win in heat three, then kept the lead to the end, achieving a total of 6 wins, 2 each for Parr, Stansfield and Keith. Fife came in second with 6 wins thanks to another maximum for Davidson and a victory each for Cuthbert and Morgan. Glasgow came third thanks to a strong final quarter with 3 wins on the trot for McDougal, Kirkup and Gray, bringing their total to 4. Edinburgh were a close fourth place with a total of 7 second places, a hat trick for Swanson, and a pair each for Matthews and Tulloch.

Final score Northumbria 48, Fife 40, Glasgow 35, Edinburgh 34.
Fife celebrated another successful day at Cramlington by clinching the overall Scottish Fours league title.
In the juniors the overall victory went to league debutants the Border Raiders who are developing their own track.
A great afternoon’s racing which left riders and spectators looking forward to the season ahead.
