MATCH REPORT: Bury secure Runners-up spot with win over A&T

Astley & Tyldesley took on Bury in a local derby fixture for the final North & Scotland League matches of the season at Gin Pit on Sunday.
On a wet, miserable afternoon, A&T had only two first choice riders available for the Division 1 match. Bury took the inevitable win, 110-69, to secure 2nd place in the final league table, behind Sheffield, with A&T 3rd, ahead of Hull and Fife. Terry Norman was best for A&T, winning three races. Reece Pollitt and Mike Baldock both raced unbeaten for Bury, recording the two fastest times of the season in the last two heats. Reece’s time of 42.40 seconds in heat 17 was the fastest.

Bury defaulted the Division 2 match, having only three riders available. A&T were awarded the win and finished in 2nd place in the Northern section table, behind Sheffield.
A&T romped to another big win in the Division 3 match, 106-13, to complete the season with a 100% record and the Northern League Division 3 title. Alex Lawless and Oscar Belt both rode unbeaten in the u-10 and u-13 categories respectively.
