This weekend (Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th June) sees another busy weekend of Cycle Speedway action which kicks off tomorrow (Saturday) with the 5th round of the South-East Grand Prix and this takes place at Eaton Park, Norwich. All those who will attending this event are reminded that there is chargeable car parking at £2 for 4 hours.
Also on Saturday the 2nd round of the EuroVets takes place at Edinburgh’s Redbraes Park and it will be the first visit to Scotland for this competition since 2023. Saturday should have also seen Poole take on Ipswich at Harbourside Park in the National League but due to circumstances beyond the control of both clubs this match has been postponed and will be raced later on in the season.
Moving on to Sunday and there will be Regional League action in all 4 regions. The South & South Wales is the busiest region with Exeter taking on Horspath at the Wheels Centre whilst both Newport clubs will be in action aslo with Newport taking on Southampton and East Newport hosting Poole. The North & Scotland League sees Astley & Tyldesley make the trip to Fife for a Division 1 match whilst there is a Yorkshire derby at the graves Tennis Centre where Sheffield take on Hull across all 3 divisions.. The Midland League sees Birmingham take on Wednesfield and Leicester taking on Coventry with both of these matches taking place at Ashmore Park, Wednesfield. Finally in the South East League there are Division 2 and Youth League matches at Great Blakenham and Hellingly. Hethersett are the visitors to the South East’s Regional Centre whilst Ipswich make the trip to Lower Dicker to take on the Lions
