Astley & Tyldesley hosted Round 4 of the Manchester League series at Gin Pit on Wednesday June 18th. On a hot sunny evening, the track was watered beforehand, to keep the dust down.

Just six riders turned out for the Division 1 (senior) match, which saw plenty of keenly contested races. In the team scores, the defending champions, Bury, just pipped A&T by a single point to take their third win of the series. Bury’s Reece Pollitt raced to a 16 points maximum score and clocked the fastest time, 43.70 seconds, in heat 2. A&T’s Emily Burgess and Sheffield’s Laura Watson both scored 13 points, with Emily losing twice to Reece and Laura losing twice to Emily, while Stockport’s Terry Norman took a point off both Emily and Laura..

The regular four riders turned out for the Division 2 match. Scores shown are as they finished on the track, with adjusted scores shown in brackets, to account for the age differences. Astley & Tyldesley took their fourth win of the series, to effectively clinch the title.
