The European Individual Championships got underway today with 2 Semi-Finals for the Over 40’s as well as 5 Qualifiers for the Open followed by 4 Quarter Finals. The Juniors had the first of 2 matches for them where the combined top 16 scorers from their events would reach their final
The first of the Over 40’s Semi-Finals saw Lee Aris, Grzegorz Gluchowski, Mark Boaler, Lukas Nowacki, Craig Norton, Dominik Rycharski, Marcus Wadhams and Steven Beesley book their places in the final where they would be joined by Neil Hollebon, Gavin Wheeler, Tomasz Wlodarczyk, Chris Jewkes, Mark Winwood, Craig Marchant, Damian Wojczynski and Lee Galley. Mark Whitehead and Steven Hammond will be the 2 reserves
.The Open Individual Championship saw the riders entered spread across 5 qualifying rounds where the top 2 from each would advance to the semi-finals with the remaining riders contesting 4 Quarter-Finals from which the top 5 would advance to the semi-finals with the 6th placed riders contesting a run-off for the last 2 places on Sunday morning. From the Qualifying Rounds Ben Mould, Ashley Hill, Lewis Brinkhoff, James Porter, Dawid Bas, Reece Pollitt, Ben Clarke, Kenzie Bennett, Josh Brooke and Mark Boaler all progressed to the semi-finals
From the quarter-finals they would be joined by Grzegorz Gluchowski, Noah Woodhouse, Tom Colling, Lewis Foxley, Lee Aris, Noah Lyon, Kayden Davidson, Piotr Jamroszczyk, Paul Heard, Jack Lister, Luca Woodhouse, Radoslaw Morawiak, Kosma Syrkowski, Leon Penketh, Chris Timms, Will Jeffery, Patryk Kryger, Owen Johnson, Fez Langoo and Richard Felgett.
Michal Rodzen, Jamie Randall, Filip Balcer and Jakub Jajesniak will contest the run-off for the last 2 places in the semi-finals on Sunday morning
Luca Woodhouse, Filip Balcer and Albert Seweryn were the top 3 scorers from the first Junior round with Frank White, Mateusz Kozlik, and Adrian Olkowski jointly top scoring in round 2 whilst the 3rd round saw Corey Burt, Oliver Banyard and Jamie Randall fill the top 3 places
