MATCH REPORT: Stockport march on against Heckmondwike

Yesterday saw Stockport play host to visitors from Heckmondwike for Division One and Three matches and Glasgow for division 2 and 3 matches (after travelling first to Astley).

In the Division One fixture, Stockport fielded a strong team though only needing 6 of the normal 8 for the main line up, giving a chance to place a couple of their up and coming youngsters. Heckmondwike were without star rider Pawel Idziorek, who would be missing from any team. The final score finished 99-51 to the league champions, Stockport.

In the Northern League Division Three encounter, Stockport fielded three under 13’s and Heckmondwike five. This match saw some good riding from youngsters from both teams, eventually finishing 36-44 to Heckmondwike.

Stockport then faced Glasgow in Division two and three fixtures. The Greater Manchester side needed to include two ineligible riders for the match, giving the visitors 39 points. The match finished 93-96 to the Glaswegians.

Glasgow were unable to field any under 13s against Stockport or Heckmondwike, so Stockport’s youngsters battled it out against each other, as did Heckmondwike’s riders in their fixtures.
