NEWS: Indoor practice dates confirmed

Following the news that the British Indoor Finals of 2015 are to be staged at the Sports Connexion venue, near Coventry, the Coventry Cycle Speedway club have moved speedily to confirm a winter programme of practice and training sessions.

The popular sessions, which were launched two years ago, will return for a third successive winter on Sunday 1st November. The sessions will be staged for seven weeks – providing excellent practice opportunities for the British Indoor Finals in early January 2016.

The full dates are:

Sunday 1st November

Sunday 8th November

Sunday 15th November

Sunday 22nd November

Sunday 29th November

Sunday 6th December

Sunday 13th December

Sunday 20th December

The times remain unchanged. All sessions will start at 7pm and end at 9pm.

There is no session on Sunday 27th December due to Christmas.

Due to increased costs, there shall be a price increase this winter – the first increase for three years. This winter’s price structure is as follows:

Coventry CSC Juniors: £2.00

Coventry CSC Seniors: £4.00

Juniors: (Under 18s) £3.00

Seniors: £5.00

Coventry CSC would like to point out that their indoor practice sessions were originally intended just as a `clubnight`, to keep members together in the winter months. They were quickly expanded as the need for a recognised indoor venue, centrally based, for the sport became apparent.

The club would remind all riders, officials and spectators attending the practice sessions at the Sports Connexion, on the seven dates this winter, which they do so entirely at their own risk.

It is especially pointed out that riders taking part on the seven dates do so at their own risk. Each rider will be required to sign a disclaimer (as in 2014). Parents of under 18s will be required to sign for those riders aged under 18.

In all cases, the management of the events (that being the “Committee of Coventry CSC”) shall have the right to refuse admission to any party. No reason will need to be given for any refusal of entry to the Sports Connexion Cycle Speedway sessions on any occasion.

Leading Coventry official Andy Drewett said: “Coventry CSC, acting for the overall good of the sport, are very pleased to provide these much needed practice opportunities for indoor competitors as they prepare for the British Finals. We look forward to welcoming everyone from the sport to Coventry this winter”.

The Sports Connexion, with all facilities including large car park, is located in Leamington Road, Ryton On Dunsmore, Coventry. CV8 3FL. It is within 20 minutes of the M1, M6, M69 and M40.
