NEWS: Wednesfield celebrate successes at presentation night

The Wednesfield Aces and Dragons celebrated a fantastic season with a bash hosted by Scott ‘Fat Scotty’ Lyons and the Signal 107 crew.

A bumper crowd turned out for the celebrations at the newly refurbished Gilberts Bar, Willenhall where riders young and old were awarded for their success.

Roger Ellis celebrated his lifetime achievement with a gold watch, along with Mick Aris and his 50 years in Cycle Speedway.

The senior rider award went to Mr Reliability, Chris Jewkes for outstanding performances for both Aces and Dragons supporting the young side. Riders Rider went to recent signing Lee Kemp. Carl Parfitt took the Managers Most Improved Rider, making Elite League team selection and representing his country in the Welsh Junior Squad.

Junior Rider went to Brandon Whetton, who was close to winning the Junior World Championship this season, as well as being either at the top or near to it in his other individual events. Coaches Rider of the year went to the greatly improved Megan Burt, who never fails to put her all into every single lap.  Wayne Tipton took the Volunteer of the Season, with his son Adam by his side as the Young Volunteer of the Year, who was also recognised for by the Mayor of Wolverhampton for his representation of the sport.

The young Aces riders were awarded not only for their British Youth & Junior and club accomplishments but with new sponsor and a new kit for the 2016 season.
