NEWS: Burke and Parr Charity Tandem Ride draws near – Sponsor them now!
Northern riders Jason Burke and Gavin Parr are getting set for their gruelling Coast to Coast Tandem Charity ride. The challenge from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Tynemouth on Tyneside is a tough route across country that takes in the Lake District and also over the famous Hartside Pass.
The pair have been putting in the hours and some long distances individually in recent months, but Saturday saw them mount a tandem machine for the first time.

With 19 days to go, the current total at time of writing is £910. We’re sure with the support of the wider Cycle Speedway community, we can get that total well into four figures.
Jason and Gavin will be doing this approximately 150 mile ride non-stop in 12 hours. The challenge, which raises money for Cancer Research UK and Sheffield Hospitals Charity is to commemorate 5 years clear of cancer for Jason.
