PREVIEW: Norwich welcome Coventry for the second leg

Norwich Stars Cycle Speedway head into the 2016 season this Sunday, with the return match at home to Coventry, back at the famous Eaton Park track, after last weeks good sprited runout at Hearsall Common.

As a club that hasn’t had the best few years, with the negativity and the deadwood now removed, there is a power of positivity running through the Norfolk club. Lee Grange, Ollie and Danielle Riley have all rejoined, with a new set of 33/18 Designs race jerseys and club logo, recruitment is high on the agenda and trying to generate the “Stars” of tomorrow.

With a decent plug on the Rob Chandler’s Radio Norwich show this morning, a decent crowd is predicted for Sunday’s interleague, challenge led by the Core four of Paddy Wenn, Jamie Medler, Gary Colby and new club captain Craig Norton.

Rohan Eubank will feature after lasts weeks strong display. Chris Cullum, entering his 50th season of racing and Ollie Riley if work commitment allows, will make up the first team squad. The Dyballs, Alex and Shaun will lead the second team squad.

Tapes up at 2pm with free admission and refreshments available. Norwich’s South East campaign gets underway on Sunday 20th March, away to local rivals Hethersett Hawks.

Thanks to Norwich for the preview. Remember to keep sending in your previews and match reports throughout 2016 to newsroom@3318news.co.uk.
