MATCH REPORT: Welsh Wizard Ben on top again

Ben Mould, the Welsh Wizard, powered his way to retaining the 2016 Dash Trophies Midland Grand Prix Final on a cool but pleasant day at Ashmore Park Raceway yesterday.

It took a run-off with Wednesfield team mate, Paul Heard, with both riders finishing on 17 points. Ben won the run-off from the inside grid two. Heard should have won the meeting in heat 17 after leading all the way to the last bend, then just lost it on the line. Josh Brooke  pulled a great line on the Aces man to take the four points.

Ace, Brandon Whetton was on the pace all afternoon, just missing out on the main run-off for first place on 16points, forcing a run-off with former British champion Andy Angell, who also finishe on 16 points. Brandon took full advantage, winning from his grid two and pulling away from the former Midland Grand champion after 3 laps to take the 3rd prize.

Other world class riders in the final came very close. Australian Cody Chadwick, World Number two Chris Timms and England international Lewis Osborne all finishing on 15 points. Other Riders in the top half were Bobby Mcmillan on 13 points along with Josh Brooke.

All other Riders that got to the final worked very hard for their points to make this Dash Trophies one of the Best individuals on the Cycle Speedway Calender.

Wednesfield would like thank Steve Mullinder and Dash Trophies for sponsoring this Event with a great display of silverware on show.
