AUSTRALIA: Comets win Interclub No. 2

Interclub No. 2 got under way at Findon on a cold and overcast day.

With 6 on the grid (2 from each club) it’s always going to be spectacular racing and today was no exception with a ‘few’ pileups spread out amongst the 8 grades.

There are 3 rounds of racing and after round 1 it was the Findon Comets in the lead by 1 point (61) from the Salisbury Jets on 60 and the LeFevre Dolphins on 44.

Round 2 saw the Comets on 126 from the Jets on 121 and Dolphins on 83. In the 3rd and final round the Comets increased their lead to finish the day on 184 with the Jets 2nd on 170 and the Dolphins on 143.

As mentioned in previous reports the margin of 14 points is not a big margin when all riders score with 6,5,4,3,2,1.

The Interclub Championship is decided by best out of 3 so now Comets and Jets have each won a match, and, unless the Dolphins can throw a spanner in the works by winning round 3 it will be a battle between the Comets and Jets to see who wins the series on August 20th at Salisbury.

If this match is a draw between Comets and Jets it will be a countback on points and the Jets will win as they beat Comets by 17 points in round 1 and Comets won this match by 14 points.
