CLUB NEWS: Poole aim for a positive impression

The recently appointed Chair of the BC Cycle Speedway Commission, Marian Lauder, will be attending Poole’s match this afternoon.

Poole chairman, Graham Sutton said: “Marian, who is an ex-army colonel, is a member of the British Cycling Board and is paying her first visit to a Cycle Speedway match, so hopefully she will go away with a favourable impression of the sport.

“If she does, it can only help our cause for getting better recognition of Cycle Speedway within British Cycling and beyond!

“She is due to arrive at 1pm and I will be showing her around and giving her the low-down on proceedings.”

Lauder has already had a positive impact on the sport, being instrumental in ensuring Cycle Speedway’s web and social media presence has been increased in 2017 with the help of British Cycling’s digital content team.

Lauder took over the chair from Colin Docker, who stepped down for personal reasons. Previously to that, ex-rider Graham Elliott held the hot seat and was a frequent attender of matches in the South East.
