WEEKEND PREVIEW: Round 2 of the BYJL and another busy day of regional racing

Round 2 of the British Youth & Junior League kicks off the weekend’s action on Saturday. The North & Scotland round is being staged by the Sheffield club and all riders competing in this event are reminded that the venue is Cookson Park and not as stated on the British Cycling website. The South East & Eastern round, which incorporates Round 2 of the South-East Grand Prix series, is at Kesgrave and not Ipswich as stated on the fixture list issued by British Cycling. Exeter host the South & South Wales event whilst the Midlands round is being staged at Wednesfield.

Sunday sees racing in all 4 regions with the North & Scotland the busiest region as all 8 teams are involved. Astley & Tyldesley host Edinburgh in all 3 divisions where they will be looking to continue their 100% start whereas Hull welcome Bury to the Hessle raceway, again in all 3 divisions.
Sheffield & Stockport will host both Glasgow & Fife in Divisions 2 & 3. Glasgow are the first visitors to Sheffield starting at 11am before they move on to Stockport (2pm start). The reigning Division 2 champions Fife are the first visitors to Stockport at midday then they move on to Sheffield (2pm start)
Moving on to the South-East & Eastern region the reigning Division 2 champions Kesgrave will be looking to bounce back from 2 straight defeats when they host Hethersett. The other matches in this region see Great Blakenham host Ipswich in both Division 1 & Division 2
The South & South Wales League sees the reigning champions Poole make the trip to Exeter whilst Horspath travel to Newport
The Midland League sees Leicester take on Wednesfield whilst Birmingham stage their 1st home league match of the season when they welcome Coventry to the Perry Hall Playing Fields. The Division 1 matches in the Midland League will also count towards the Crossover League.
