MATCH REPORT: Bury v Glasgow

The 3rd division match consisted of a Bury only individual match, as Glasgow did not bring any under 13 year olds with them , and consequently the scores were Tom Dunphy 16, Sam Dunphy 13, Bobby Dunphy 10, Sarah Mohammadi 6, Sahar Mohammadi 5 making the overall score Bury 50 Glasgow 0.

The Division 2 match was a different situation, with Glasgow having 3 very experienced riders hoping to emulate the score line earlier in the season when Bury raced at Glasgow and were decisively beaten.
However there were pluses and minuses this time as Bury had Harry Radford back off holiday, but Dawar Mohammadi, whilst in the team was observing Ramadan and on fasting and consequently could not exert himself as he normally would.
Heat 1 saw Eryk Motala leading but Glasgow’s best rider passed him and with Colin Gray beating Bury’s Steve Mann Glasgow took the lead, however Harry Radford and Dawar Mohammadi put Bury back into the lead in heat two.
Eryk Motala won heat four then teamed up with Harry Radford in heat 5 and Bury were 5 points clear.
However two maximum heat wins for Glasgow put them 3 points ahead.
Bury’s strongest pairing of Motala and Radford hit back with a maximum heat win of their own in the next heat and Bury were leading again.
Mohammadi and Radford, took a hard fought heat 9, and Bury had another heat win in heat 10 to put Bury 5 points clear with two heats to go.
Andy McDougal again beat Eryk Motala but the heat win to Glasgow, only reduced Bury’s lead to 3 points with one heat to go.
Harry and Dawar took a careful heat win to wrap up the match 60 points to Bury 54 to Glasgow, in a very competitive match.
